Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of nutq, an API for Arabic speech-to-text and text-to-speech, together with the website and dashboard at nutq.dev. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.

The service

nutq transcribes audio to text and synthesises speech from text. Requests are priced by what they consume: transcription per second of audio, synthesis per character of text. Current prices are shown on the pricing section of our homepage and in the dashboard, and apply from the moment they change.

Accounts and keys

You need an account to use the service. Keep your API keys secret: anything done with your key is treated as done by you, and is billed to you. We store only a hash of each key, so we cannot recover one for you — if a key is lost or exposed, revoke it in the dashboard and create another.

Credit and payment

• The service is prepaid. You add credit, and requests draw it down. When the balance reaches zero, requests are refused until you add more.
• New accounts receive a small amount of introductory credit. It is a promotion, not money: it has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and may be withdrawn or varied at any time.
• Credit you have paid for is not refundable once the corresponding requests have been served. Unused credit can be refunded at our discretion within 30 days of purchase.
• A request that fails on our side is not billed.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store card details.

Acceptable use

You may not use nutq to:

• clone or synthesise a person’s voice without that person’s agreement, or to impersonate anyone;
• produce audio intended to deceive a listener about who is speaking, including for fraud, or to defeat voice-based identity checks;
• process recordings you have no right to process, including calls recorded without the consent the law where they were made requires;
• break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or harass anyone;
• resell raw access to the API as a substitute for it, or attempt to extract, copy or reconstruct the underlying models.

Voice cloning carries an obligation that does not expire when you close the page: you are responsible for having the right to every voice you clone, and for what you make it say.

Your content

Audio and text you send remain yours. Output generated for you is yours, to use commercially without restriction from us. We claim no ownership of either, and we do not use your content to train models — ours or anyone else’s. What we keep, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.

Availability

We do not currently offer a service level agreement. The service is provided as it is: we work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, or that a transcription or a synthesised voice will be correct or fit for a particular purpose. Do not use it as the sole basis for a decision that matters without a human check.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or where we are required to. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unused credit.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights we will give notice by email to the address on the account before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have exclusive jurisdiction.
